"I Believe" Licesne Plate

i understand why this is an issue, but i still don't get it. south carolina has always been part of the more conservative part of the country, so it does not surprise me that they would come out with a license plate like that. it is very over the top, yet it has that competitive edge against "Know Jesus, Know Peace, No Jesus, No peace" bumper stickers. i don't have palm trees or whales on my license plate because i know it costs more a year to register. this might be a good idea because more dmv registration money might come into the state and they could charge that as a tax. however, it wasn't the case here. the lawmakers approved the license plates only to publicly fund those fighting against it. it's all just a huge political mess that has religion at the center of it.
